Message From Mrs. Cox
Liberty Families,
As we enter the last few weeks of school I wanted to share with you that I will be leaving Liberty at the end of this school year. The last four years have been amazing and I have enjoyed working with Liberty students, staff, and parents. Liberty is an outstanding school and you have always supported our efforts to best serve your children. However, after thirty-one years in public education, it is time for me to do something different and allow a new leader
to step in and continue to carry on the Liberty Wildcat legacy.
The district has been looking for just the right candidate to join the Liberty staff as principal beginning- the 23-24 school year. After several weeks of taking applications and holding interviews, the district has chosen Jody Fincher for Liberty’s new principal. Mr. Fincher is no stranger to Liberty as he spent a few hours every afternoon last year assisting me as part of his administration training. As he was in many classrooms daily, most of our boys and girls will be very familiar with him. Mr. Fincher will be introduced to students tomorrow during our morning Rise and Shine assembly and we are going to work together to plan a meet and greet with parents in the next few weeks. I know you will be as welcoming and gracious to Mr. Fincher as you were to me when I joined the staff at Liberty.
Thank you for welcoming me when I came to Liberty and all your hard work the past four years. Together we have been able to do so much for our students’ well-being. We installed a new sign in front of the school, re-established a yearly fundraiser to support many of the activities, fieldtrips, student incentives, quarterly celebrations, and playground toys for students, and improved academic achievement. And we did it all while surviving a pandemic! None of this would have been possible without your support and hard work. I will truly miss my Liberty families. You are amazing!
